Laura Linney was born in New York in New York on the 5th of February, 1964. Linney is an American actor who is well-known for her talent in portraying powerful characters that are fragile. Linney was born into a family of actors, since her father Romulus Linney is a playwright. She earned a degree in Arts Theatre School, Moscow in 1986. Then she earned an M.F.A. at Juilliard School. in New York City in 1990. She started performing immediately on Broadway, earning accolades for her roles, including Six Degrees of Separation or Hedda Galer.
